There are many ways to market your business online. Depending on your business type, different online techniques or strategies may bring you more or less results than other online strategies. When marketing your business online, there are some similarities to traditional offline marketing. When marketing your business offline, you need to develop a strategy or plan to execute the marketing. You also need to promote your USP (unique selling proposition) and have an offer that will help an individual become a lead and then a sale. This is very similar to what needs to be done through online marketing.

When marketing your business online, the USP (unique selling proposition) is still very important. Through your website, your USP may be in the form of a "CTA" or Call to Action. Examples may include "Contact us for a Free Estimate" or "Learn about our 40 years of experience by downloading our case study". Your USP should also be featured throughout your website, to help bring visitors into conversions.

Here are three online marketing strategies to test for your business:

1) Social Media Marketing
The world of social has enabled businesses to promote their offers and products in front of targeted audiences. Depending on your type of business, decide which social channel may talk to your target audience best. If you are a B2B business, Linkedin marketing may benefit you. If your business is mostly local and service orientated, Facebook and Twitter would be great to start your social media marketing.

There are many things you can do with social media marketing! Try running a contest, work on sending out messages to your target audience and focus on providing your audience with quality content!

2) Blogging
Blogs can benefit your businesses in several ways. If you are blogging, you are continuously adding new pages to your website. The more pages on your website, the better chances each page can be indexed by the search engines. The more pages indexed by the search engines, the more opportunities there are for online searchers to find your blog.

Another benefit to blogging is to provide your audiences with quality content. Your audience does not want to go to a blog filled with information built for the search engines! They want quality, and they deserve it. Write to your audience just as you talk to someone in person. Use your natural voice. Be professional. Tell them the information they need to know and why it should matter.

You can also use your blogs to convert readers into leads or customers. Always include a call to action inside of your blog post. Give your readers a path to conversion. Tell them what you want them to do. Are they to subscribe for more updates? Comment below? What about sign up now for a special offer? Tell them what action you would like them to take.

3) Website Redesign
Your website means everything for your conversions. Without a proper website design, a website that does not let users easily flow through to find the information they want will not help conversions. Your website needs to be user-friendly and display information in an easy-to-find format. If a client goes to the home page and instantly does not see what they would like, they could jump off and "bounce" to another site.

Test different areas on your website for optimal conversions. You can also install a heat map that will track the visitors process on your website. The heat map will tell you where visitors are clicking the most, what areas they are viewing the most and give you insights to areas you need to improve on. Work on trying a call to action in different places throughout the website and see what area converts the most.
