*and one you might not

When you're getting started with inbound (or if you just want to give your inbound strategy a boost) you want to make the process as easy as possible. Luckily, there are quite a few tools that make inbound marketing for manufacturers simple and efficient. Take a look.

  1. A Motivated Team
The number one tool you need for inbound marketing, no matter what your industry, your business goals, or your title, is a motivated team. Inbound isn't a one person job. No matter how dedicated you are to getting your strategy going, you're going to need help. Whether that means outsourcing your content creation, getting your CEO on board, or just convincing a sales team that inbound is the way to go, your team will always be your most effective tool in getting things done.
  2. Your Customer Database
Creating personas is a key part of inbound marketing. You need to know who you're trying to marketing to if you want to do it effectively. Luckily, you've already got the best possible resource for creating these profiles: your customers! Sure, maybe you're utilizing inbound to increase your customer base, but chances are you've sold to a few companies and your have a few contacts that you could talk to about their needs and pain points. Your customers can be one of your most valuable tools when it comes to producing an inbound marketing strategy and keeping it moving in the right direction.
  3. A Twitter Account
You definitely have a Twitter account already, right? Great. They cost nothing and they are extremely effective for every step of the inbound process. Twitter is not just a way to connect directly to your customers and leads, it's a great platform for promoting content, learning about industry trends, getting your brand voice out there, and obviously following celebrities. (That last part probably won't help you with your inbound marketing, but it sure can be entertaining!)
  4. A Website
You can't start inbound without a website. Well, I guess technically you could but it would be pretty difficult, so hopefully you already have one of these. As you move through the inbound process, your website will blossom into much more than a static place where potential customers can learn about your products and services. Your website will be home to your content and landing pages that will offer value to those personas you're trying to attract and convert. It could be, in fact, the most powerful tool you have. But we're not trying to make a competition out of it.
  5. HubSpot
Here's the tool you might not have just yet. HubSpot is a power inbound platform that lets you track, post, schedule, study, and generally get everything going in your marketing strategy from one simple spot. It can make inbound for manufacturers easier from start to finish and ManoByte (Gold Partners, mind you) are thoroughly convinced that it's worth the investment. If you're serious about inbound marketing, you have to give it a try.

Just getting started in inbound for manufacturers can feel like a major hurdle, but the truth is that you already have most of what you'll need, you just need to learn how to use it. Keep your eyes on this blog for more information about how to make these tools and others work for you and help you to reach your business goals, no matter what they are.
