Do you ever feel like you need a personal assistant to help organize your hectic schedule? While you're working all week, opportunities for networking and career growth might be passing you by! The good news is, that doesn't have to be the case anymore thanks to The Grand Rapids Marketing Planner from ManoByte. Every Monday, we'll showcase some great marketing events happening around the area so you don't have to waste time searching all over for marketing-related events in Grand Rapids. Whether you're a channel marketer, director of sales and marketing, a CEO, or maybe still figuring out what you want to do in marketing, this planner has you covered. So, without further delay, let's jump to this week, January 23rd - 29th, 2017.

ATHENA Leadership Forum

The Grand Rapids Area Chamber of Commerce is holding an ATHENA Leadership Forum Thursday, January 26, from 11:30 a.m. — 1:00 p.m. These bi-monthly meetings allow for networking and professional development for women in all levels of business. This particular forum will be held in the McKay Tower Ballroom on the second floor, that's at 146 Monroe Center NW. Guests will hear from the 2016 ATHENA Award Recipient, Shelley Irwin, as well as Teresa Weakley, whose the co-anchor of “24 Hours News 8 Daybreak” for WoodTV. Shelly Irwin is the host/producer of WGVU’s Morning Show and several local PBS shows. Attending this event could help you hone in on your leadership abilities for 2017 and network with a diverse group of professional women.

January Unwind

If you can't get away during the day, the Grand Rapids Young Professionals are hosting a "January Unwind" after work on Thursday from 5:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. at Atwater Brewing Company (201 Michigan St. NW). Networking and meeting new people is much easier with a drink in-hand, so make sure to try the varities of craft beer while you're at the brewery! Also, bring your business cards and be ready to shake hands. This is a great chance to reach out to fellow marketers or meet some prospective clients.

Learn Something New

Feel like being a little introverted this week? That's alright, too! You can still learn something new to talk about at the next event you attend. Read our eBook, it'll prepare you with interesting video marketing statistics, facts, and thoughts to contribute in a discussion. Here's our free report, "What Video Marketing will Mean for Businesses in 2017." If you're going to talk with others in your industry, it's paramount to be up to date on video marketing know-how to look like you're on top of things.
